Tools To Get Shot Of Stretch Marks

Posted on

For many women, the dream of being able to give birth to a happy, healthy baby boy or girl is strong in their minds. When that happy day comes, they often feel incredibly lucky to be given the opportunity to bring another human being into the world and to guide them through the formative stages of their lives. However, there is one thing which most women hate about pregnancy: the toll it has on their bodies. The excess weight gained in pregnancy can be lost through hard work; the skin blemishes are much harder to shake. People therefore ask how to get rid of stretch marks.

Amazingly, half of all women who have given birth to a child report that they have suffered from this problem. But it is a misnomer to think that it is only those who are pregnant who can find their bodies marked with this scar tissue. Almost all women will find they suffer from it in some point, because they all go through puberty.

There, the hips and breasts grow and the skin is tightened beyond its breaking point, causing small ruptures of scar tissue on the skin's surface.

These scars people see on their skins are tiny tears in the inelastic connective tissue of the skin. Initially, they look pink or red and very sore, but over time they fade to a more neutral color. This makes them less visible as time goes on.

But they do not fade away sometimes, and remain as a blight on a woman's body. This has led to many women feeling very self conscious about their stretch marks. Luckily, there are a plethora of ways to make them fade into insignificance and sometimes remove them entirely. It does depend on how long they have been there, though.

Getting on top of the problem early makes it more likely to be successful. 90% success rates are reported by those who catch it when it is still pink and raw. Those who leave it until they fade to begin treatment have a lesser - but still significant - success rate.

Getting rid of them is a cumulative process, however. Just because women may not see immediate results that does not mean they should stop treatment. It is all about breaking down the stretch marks over time. There are some immediate one stop treatments which can be performed by plastic surgeons or a beauty center.

It is simply that these are riskier, more invasive treatments. Lasers, chemical peels and general dermal abrasion (where the top few layers of skin are essentially removed entirely) can get rid of them. However, it is expensive and often more painful, and should only be used should everything else fail.

But there are more sensible, affordable ways how to get rid of stretch marks. Chemists will offer paraffin wraps which can be worn and soothe the skin. There are also countless creams, ointments and lotions which do the same work and cost less, and are less likely to result in a problem in the long run. It is a more natural way to deal with the problem.
